Born in the countryside of São Paulo, Cristiane Akemi Matumoto Uetanabara, also known as Cris, moved to Campinas and made history at Datastore. She started as an intern, and today celebrates her 13th anniversary at the company as Technical Director and Partner.

In the beginning of her career Datastore was still a small business. Cris talks about her early concerns: ‘I had my moments of fear and insecurity as I was dealing with something new, but at the same time I was eager to learn more. My excitement for the company has never let me down.’

She claims to have learned a lot from Datastore CEO and Founder Marcus Araújo, as he never doubted the company would succeed. ‘I am always learning, but I know that my role as a Technical Director goes beyond managing a department. It is also about teaching and training people to play their roles in a structure that today is so different from the one we had when I first started here. And no matter how long your CV is or how wonderful your experiences in life have been, there is always a lot to learn out there.’

Cris has been at the company for a long time, and has many good things to say about the time spent here: ‘you have to like what you do, and I love what I do. I respect what we do here, and honor it everyday. Datastore has evolved, innovated, and grown a lot. I saw the changes happen. I participated and helped. I’m proud of it and I know it’s far from over!’
